Aidan will be heading up a new Soft Tissue Therapy Service delivered at the Centre for members of the Community experiencing chronic illness or injuries.  Soft Tissue Therapy uses massage and hands on manipulation to improve the function of muscles, tendons, ligaments, skin, nerves and blood vessels. The treatments can help improve quality of life, reduce deterioration associated with chronic conditions and assist with recovery from injury.  Aidan’s wide experience in the fitness sector will allow him to maximise the benefits by integrating his treatments with other services and facilities available at the Centre.

As a keen ironman competitor himself, Aidan has first-hand experience of the benefits of Soft Tissue Therapy:

“I experienced some muscle pain a few years ago, and unsuccessfully tried various treatments before seeing a Soft Tissue Therapist. I was impressed with the holistic, science-based approach, and the improvements I saw in my own fitness.”

The Soft Tissue Therapy Service will complement existing services at West Wight Sports and Community Centre, including the popular Rebuild service, which focuses on building strength and resilience, helping with current health or injury problems and reducing the chance of future issues.

Shannon Kilcullen, Gym and Fitness Supervisor, explained:

“We are delighted to have supported Aidan to achieve this qualification and congratulate him for all his hard work.  The addition of Soft Tissue Therapy to our services here at the Centre expands the range of professional health and fitness services available to the West Wight community, supporting them to improve their quality of life and achieve their goals.”
