We are delighted to have been asked by Ryde Harriers to take over the running of their iconic Three Hills race.

Supporting the West Wight Sports & Community Centre Trust (registered charity number 273334).

Ryde Harriers have organised this much-loved event for decades, and we are honoured that they have entrusted West Wight Sports & Community Centre and West Wight Road Runners with its future.

The Three Hills race has long been a highlight of the Isle of Wight running calendar, attracting runners from across the Island and beyond to experience the stunning scenery and challenging terrain of West Wight.

We are excited to continue the race's proud tradition and look forward to welcoming both returning participants and newcomers to this historic Isle of Wight event.

What is the West Wight Three Hills?

West Wight Three Hills (in collaboration with WW Road Runners) is a scenic and challenging approximately 8-mile off-road race through the heart of West Wight, featuring around 900 feet of ascent across a varied single-lap course.

Starting and finishing in Freshwater, runners will tackle a route that takes in some of the area's most recognisable landmarks and landscapes, including Golden Hill Fort, Headon Warren, Alum Bay, Highdown and Tennyson Down, before descending towards Freshwater Bay and returning to the finish.

The course combines challenging climbs, fast descents and varied terrain, rewarding participants with breathtaking coastal and countryside views throughout. Whether you're an experienced trail runner or looking for a new challenge, Three Hills delivers an unforgettable race experience.

Participants can expect:

  • Around 900 feet of ascent
  • Spectacular views across West Wight and the coastline
  • Trails, downs, countryside paths and open landscapes
  • Challenging climbs and exciting descents
  • Friendly marshals and excellent event support
  • A welcoming atmosphere for runners of all abilities
