C.O.O.K Project – Creating Opportunities in Our Kitchen
Our COOK Project is a volunteering and work experience programme for young people, adults with learning or mental health difficulties, and those returning to work.
Through the project we offer hands-on learning in our busy community cafe under the supervision of our catering supervisor. Topics being covered include food hygiene, cooking and preparation, cleaning, serving, cash handling, menu planning and waiting. We are delighted to be working with Michele Newton of Four Seasons Cookery Academy to deliver the COOK Project.
The COOK project was started in 2017 by a £10,000 award from WightAid, as well as £42,180 from Meridan People’s Projects / Big Lottery.
