Tour de West Wight 2019
NOTICE: Due to the predicted strong winds and bad weather forecast for tomorrow and on the grounds of health and safety, we have decided to postpone the Tour de West Wight event.
We will let you know as soon as we have set a new date and fingers crossed the weather is a bit kinder to us!
The centre is still open tomorrow as usual, as is the Café. Please do feel free to pop in and have some hot food or tea and cake and shelter from the rain.

Minimum Age: 16 years
Registration Open from: 9.45am
Cycle Start: 10.30am from West Wight Sports and Community Centre
Food: The Cafe will be open and serving food and refreshments
Entry: Enter online above or on the day (online entries close at 2100 Friday 25 October)
The Tour de West Wight, is open to all cyclists aged 16 years or over. The ride is being hosted by West Wight Sports & Community Centre and led by the West Wight Wheelers, our local cycling club.
The 40km route starts and finishes at the Centre and takes riders through the scenic roads of West Wight. Cakes and drinks will be available in our café at the Centre after the ride. All levels of rider can take part and electric bikes are welcome.
The ride is expected to take between one and a half and two and a half hours depending on the pace of your group, and you can choose from the following categories:
– Slower paced group
– Medium paced group
– Faster paced group
If you are unsure which group you would like to join we can advise you on the day.
All our events help fund the charity that runs our Centre. We have become a vital hub for the community, supporting people’s physical and mental health and well-being, and we rely on fund raising, donations and events to allow us to carry out the work we do. The Tour de West Wight is a free event but voluntary donations will be gratefully received.
Rules – Ages 16yrs and over- Helmets are compulsory. No helmet, no ride. – Bikes must be roadworthy. If you are unsure, visit for an assessment in good time before the event.
