Two of our staff – Joy Mowle and Clare Griffin recently traveled to Western Kenya where they spent 2 weeks working with the community who live there in extreme poverty. They will be doing a talk about their experiences on Friday March 17th at 7.30pm in the Community Centre.
Joy is a Trustee for the Charity Uzima In Our Hands and she led a group of 5 volunteers, including Clare. Whilst there they experienced the hardships of living in extreme poverty where there is no running water, or electricity and where disease and malnutrition is rife. They spent time working mainly with the orphans who attend Uzima Day Care Centre. These children attend the Centre where they receive education and two meals a day. Come along on Friday 17th and hear their story.
